Scripture:

Acts 5:38-39 So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God.

Observation:

This was wise advice from a man named Gamaliel. He was addressing the high priest and the Jewish counsel regarding the apostles. The Jewish counsel was angry that the apostles were preaching Jesus and people were flocking to them.  Gamaliel listed other men who started movements and noted that when these leaders died so did their following and uprising. He knew that things of man have a shelf life. But anything that is founded and backed by God you are not going to stop.  The counsel did not take his advice to heart but his words came to pass. This group of, Jesus loving good news proclaiming, people were not stopped and their movement is still going on today.

Application:

For some reason, we, in the church of Jesus Christ, have problems with other believers or churches that are not like us.  Gamaliels advice still rings true today. If a ministry or church is of man or based on a mans idea and doctrine, it will fail. But if God is in it it will not be stopped.  So the best advice if you dont like or agree with another church or ministry is just leave them alone.  Dont say anything untrue or unkind because if God is behind it that church/ministry will not be stopped. I dont want to come against what God is doing.  Gamaliels great advice when we differ is very much applicable 2000 years later.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, Forgive me for saying anything about anyone else professing to do your work.  If it is of you it will work.  If not it wont. Either way my best resource is to say nothing.
